A Tale of two Agents

Yesterday I closed another escrow. This is a property that I had on the market for 3 days before having 4 offers. It sold over asking and in less than 30 days. However, before I was the listing agent, the home had sat for 6 months with no offers.

Without boring you with all of the details, it is always important that you hire an agent who knows their 'craft' and their 'competition'. The agent who listed the home before I did, had not spent any money on professional photography. The photos that they posted on the MLS were all taken by the agent. Further, the home was vacant and they did not spend any money on staging the home. Finally, they neglected to tell the Sellers, who had relocated to Northern California, that the gardener had not been coming and that the weeds in the backyard had grown 6 feet tall.

These all seem like things an agent should do, but many do not. I came in to the home, cleaned it, had it landscaped, lightly staged it, relocated a rusty old mailbox, and VIOLA! SOLD! I included a few before and after photos below to give you an idea.

I take pride in my craft and make sure that every home shines uniquely from the competition. Congrats to my Sellers on the sale of their home and the start of their new life in Northern California! Cheers!
